As John also mentioned, I too would first check for soil moisture.

Jul 12, ANSWER: This is Cercospora leaf spot due to all the rain. In most instances, infected leaves develop a yellowish to orangey red coloration then fall off. Estimated Reading Time: 40 secs. Cercospora leaf spot happens on Indian crapemyrtle and its hybrids, and starts as round brown spots about ¼ inch across on the leaf surface. Over time, the leaves may distort or twist. The spots eventually enlarge, turning leave bright red or yellow, then causing them to fall off.

Cercospora Leaf spot will cause yellowing and dropping of the leaves. This fungal disease disease is normally caused by too much moisture in the soil and or on the foliage by too much irrigation or rain.

I would first check the soil moisture content. Dig down 8 inches or so and feel the soil.
